TikTok integration
How ClipFactory uses TikTok.
ClipFactory Media uses TikTok Login Kit and the Content Posting API to publish clips to TikTok accounts whose owners have authorised the app.
Products and scopes
| Product / scope | What we use it for |
|---|---|
| Login Kit | The account owner signs in with TikTok and approves ClipFactory. This is the only way an account is connected. |
user.info.basic | Reads the account's display name and open ID so we can show which account is connected and store the authorisation against it. |
video.publish | Direct Post: publishes a finished clip to the authorised account's profile with the caption the owner has approved. |
video.upload | Uploads a clip as a draft so the owner can edit and post it inside TikTok. |
The flow, end to end
1. The account owner opens the ClipFactory authorisation link and signs in with TikTok. 2. TikTok shows the permissions requested and the owner approves. 3. ClipFactory receives an access token and the account's open ID. 4. A finished clip is uploaded through the Content Posting API. 5. ClipFactory polls the publish status and records the result. The owner can revoke access at any time in TikTok under Settings and privacy, Security and permissions, Apps and services.
Data handling
We store the access token, refresh token and open ID needed to post for the authorised account, and a log of what was posted and when. We do not sell data, we do not read private messages or watch history, and we remove stored tokens when access is revoked or on request. See the privacy policy for full detail.
Content standards
Clips follow TikTok's Community Guidelines and Commercial Content policies. Posts are rate limited per account, show the account owner's chosen caption and are never posted to accounts that have not authorised the app.
